We're damn excited about this new release. One of our fav discoveries of last year - Scottish rockers We Cry Wolf are back with a massive new single “Running”, which is also their first release under Wild Cove Recordings.
We previously featured their 2022 single “Take me Home” and were immediately grabbed by the world-class, stadium-ready quality of their songwriting, performance (especially the insane melodic vocals) and production quality. This band needs to be heard…
“Running” sees them take things to another level completely, turning up both the emotions and guitar amps, delivering a huge, angsty yet beautiful, alternative rock anthem that showcases the band's heavier side a bit more. The band told us that this song delivers more of their “heavier live edge” and from the new music video below we can see what they mean.
The song starts off with a super expansive melodic verse with epic soaring vocals that really connected with us emotionally. This introspective beauty quickly explodes into a hard-hitting, catchy chorus with loads of balls. It teeters on the edge of screamo angst, then pulls it back into emo-heavy melodic hooks at just the right moments. Love it.. The second verse continues building on this driving energy and when the bridge breakdown hits your head is bopping, eyes closed and emotions running high until the final release at the end that begs for a repeat listen.

We Cry Wolf formed back in 2018 and consists of 5 members; Mark Frail (vocals), Craig Thomson (Guitar), Shawn Logie (guitar), Lee Greenhorn (Bass Guitar) and Billy Underwood (Drums). They initially started the band as a hobby with the simple goal of having fun with what they were writing and being able to perform for local audiences.
They found a lot of success with their first single release (2019's beautiful “Nothing but Silence”, a song we still listen to regularly) and have continued to grow as a band and develop their sound.
Now they’ve had the opportunity to have their new single “Running” produced by none other than Dan Gautreau at his top of the range studio, and he quickly signed them to his record label. Dan has had a long career and worked with artist such as Seal, Celine Dion and George Michael. 'Running' was mastered by Chris Gehringer on the other side of the world in New York who has worked with everyone from Harry Styles to The 1975.
